Welcome to Artemis Seminars! Our mission is to Preserve, Promote and Develop Traditional Chinese Martial Arts through Seminars, Classes and Teacher Trainings. Seminars Founded in 2001, Artemis Seminars provides dynamic instruction with top teachers of the Chinese Martial Arts. Each seminar is a powerful hands-on experience designed to provide you with the tools you need to meet your goals. Our seminars are not demonstrations - be prepared to work with our teachers and your fellow seminar participants. You will spend your time learning to physically manifest the principles of the art in question so that, once home, you will be able to continue the method on your own. We attract a good group of people and tend to have a lot of fun. Each seminar is relaxed, with a focus on truly learning the method and getting a feeling for teacher's personal technique. Our seminar participants routinely travel from all over North America and Europe, range from beginners to instructors, and practice a variety of martial arts. What they all have in common is a love of the arts, a willingness to learn and a great attitude. At a typical seminar you will find practitioners of Aikido, Jujitsu, Karate, Kenpo, Western Boxing, Krav Maga, Jeet Kune Do, Kali, Hung Gar, Wing Chun, Northern Mantis, Baji, Eagle Claw, Xingyiquan, Taijiquan and Baguazhang. You may find yourself practicing opposite a school owner with 20 years of experience, a complete beginner or someone in between. Our teachers are able to communicate the material to all levels of ability and understanding. Everyone comes to experience the methods taught, and to leave with the knowledge of how to improve themselves. Teacher Training Jiulong Baguazhang Instructor Certification Program The first certification program is the Jiulong (Nine Dragon) Baguazhang "Dragon Rolling the Pearl" Instructor Certification. Participants take a combination of seminars with Dr. John P. Painter, the current head of the system, local NYC classes and the annual Jiulong Baguazhang Intensive. There are three levels to this certification and, once completed, you will be certified to lead classes in the Jiulong Baguazhang Basics Curriculum, commonly known as "Dragon Rolling the Pearl". YMAA Qinna Assistant Instructor Certification Program The second certification program is Dr. Yang, Jwing-Ming's YMAA Qinna (Chin Na) Instructor Certification. This is a six-level, eight seminar program through which you may become certified to teach YMAA Qinna - the traditional Chinese Joint Locking methods that gave birth to Jujitsu. This program of joint-locks is a great add-on to any style and is effective for those wanting to teach their students how to escape from grabs and holds to subdue their opponent. So far we have brought 22 participants through all six levels and they are in preparation for their exams with Dr. Yang.
